A Message from the Co-Chairmen of the Committee to Elect William Heck:
As co-chairmen of this campaign, we want you to know Bill Heck as we know him. Bill is right when he says, "we live in a city that doesn't know where it's going, and has gotten lost trying to get there."
Since January, many Newton residents asked Bill Heck if he would support Balser, Coletti, Parker or Warren in the mayoral campaign. When he expressed no preference, most people, like us, responded similarly. Why? Because the mayoral candidates are confused, and it's obvious.
They talk about "doing more with less" and then advocate more taxes. This makes no sense because you can't have it both ways.
Bill Heck is running for mayor because raising taxes is not the answer to everything.
Bill believes that our future can be bright and fiscally responsible if we can embrace two concepts to their fullest measure: responsible stewardship and buying power.
These are not idle words: Bill intends to fix Newton's financial crisis while maintaining excellent municipal services and a top-flight school system. He has a demonstrated predisposition to five-star performance in competitive environments, and this performance is evident throughout his diverse, colorful career of managing complex entities and situations with a passion for excellence at all levels.
After you review the candidates' resumes, ask yourself which candidate you want to manage a $300,000,000 budget. Bill Heck is the only candidate with demonstrated skills and performance in business, education, government and the service industries and he will get value for our tax dollars.
We ask you to give Bill Heck your vote.
Sincerely,
